Three Move on to Diocesan Competition

Last week, our students excelled at the Regional Forensics Competition held at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School.

Congratulations to all our students for a job well done: Kaleb Hilyer, Lauren Bender, Brandon Farabaugh, Nick Witham, Abigail Baker, Courtney Hilyer, Brianna Kirsch, Luke Behe, Logan Behe, and Christopher Lydick.

“Saint Benedict School gave my kids a well-rounded education, which allowed them to easily move from grade school to high school, and then the transition to college was pretty seamless.”
-Anna Marie Minemyer

Achievement seems to run in the family for the Minemyers—and it all began with an education at Saint Benedict School. Anna Marie Minemyer is an alumna herself and is the mother of four more alumni and one current student. She speaks proudly of her children, all of whom—except her youngest of course—attended Bishop Carroll Catholic High School as well.

“I’m very proud of my kids—they’ve done well for themselves,” Anna Marie says.

At Saint Benedict School, faculty and staff at each level are providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills that will prepare them not just for high school, but also for college, career, and life. Starting at a young age, students are learning the value of leadership and the responsibility that comes with it.

“Each day at the preschool, we have a leader,” said Mrs. Gloria Demi, pre-kindergarten teacher. “He/she assists with various easy jobs in the classroom, leads circle time activities, gets to be the first in line, and helps others when necessary.”

Throughout the younger grades, these skills are nurtured and students are given opportunities to build upon that which they’ve already learned. It’s these opportunities, provided by faculty and staff, that help our students become the outstanding leaders they are today.
